Systemair Revolution Super Silent High Power Vector EC Fan

The Systemair Revolution Super Silent High Power Vector EC Fan is a highly efficient inline duct fan. It matches high power with efficiency and incredibly silent running, making it ideal for use in hydroponic grow rooms and tents.

Manufactured with EC technology, this is known as one of the most durable and reliable – not to say the quietest – extractor fans on the market today.

These fans have several benefits and attributes, and these include:

  • State-of-the-art frictionless digital EC motor
  • Generates incredible pressure levels
  • They can be regulated from 1 to 100% for precise calibration
  • They will save you lots of money as they use only 50% of the energy of other fans
  • The product of many years of engineering research and development
  • Feature an optimised impeller design which streams air more efficiently, directing it in a straight line
  • Reduces noise in ducting runs by lowering friction against the sidewalls
  • They have a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty for peace of mind
  • Compact design, corrosion proof and lightweight
  • Built to standards which ensure smooth running for many years
  • Loses little pressure when used with a carbon filter

The fan has sealed steel housing to prevent leaks and is considered the market leader in silent duct fans. It runs at a lower decibel level than competitor products in test conditions.

How Does the Systemair Revolution Super Silent High Power Vector EC Fan Work?

Both Vector fans have frictionless motors that provide impressive efficiency far more significant than many other fans. They have about half the electrical power demands of a typical duct fan. They’re capable of delivering substantial pressure levels that can move a great deal of air, and there is no downside with drag factor when used with carbon filters.

These fans can be rendered completely quiet by connecting Phonic Trap ducting to the fan.

Please note: These fans only work with a G.A.S Fan Speed Controller, explicitly developed for use with their EC motors.

The result is impressive. You can control the fans with remarkable accuracy in increments of 1%. And all this without humming and buzzing sounds. When you turn a Vector fan down to 1%, you will get 1% of the maximum output and use 1% of its power. No other fan is capable of producing such power and with such precision.

These fans are completely airtight and enclosed in composite housing. You won’t notice any little gaps of the kind that you may find in mainstream fans, contributing to unwanted odours leaving your grow room. With this fan, you don’t need to be concerned about that because it just won’t happen.

How To Choose Which Model of Fan

The model you select depends on the fan’s power and size based on its ability to remove air from your growing area. This measurement is either Cubic Feet per Minute rating (CFM) or ‘rated airflow’ expressed in cubic metres per hour. For further information, you might find it interesting to read our article on hydroponic grow room ventilation.

In total, you’ll need:

  • An extractor fan to take the air out of your grow tent or growing area
  • Air vents to pull air in, or add a second, smaller extractor fan to draw fresh air in
  • A 5-metre power lead for each extractor fan
  • A carbon filter (for your extractor only)
  • An appropriate length of ducting
  • 3 x Duct Clips
  • 2 x Rope Ratchets (advisable) to support your fan(s)

How To Use?

Connect a mains power lead to the fan and ascertain the airflow direction.

Air must travel out of your grow space for the extraction or into your growing area for intake. You might see an arrow on the fan’s casing which shows which direction the air travels.

To connect all the equipment, secure an appropriate length of ducting to the exhaust side of the fan using a duct clip, then feed the length of ducting through the duct port of your tent or into the area you want to vent.

Attach the opposite end of the fan to the carbon filter with a fast clamp or a small piece of ducting and a clip.

Refer to the Systemair installation instructions in each case.
