This product is an excellent solution for use in hydroponic growing systems.

This acoustic ducting has a wide range of interesting qualities and attributes, and these include:

  • Made in France
  • Slim and elegant design and very durable

How Does PhonicTrap Acoustic Ducting Work?

PhonicTrap Acoustic Ducting dramatically reduces noise in the ducting of your ventilation system. Growers demanding the most powerful fans often need to significantly reduce the airflow noise as it moves down the ducting. With its non-allergenic insulation, this product reduces unwanted noise without any possibility of contaminating your grow room or grow tent with glass wool. This is widely considered to be the best ducting in the industry.

Be advised that look-alike versions of this product will never compare to the same standard. PhonicTrap manufactures its ducting to REACH certification standards and from very high-quality materials. It has three layers of ducting, and each helps reduce noise and maximise airflow.

Its black foil outer skin is made of premium quality layered aluminium, impregnated with a metal spiral that can minimise kinks, thereby preventing any obstructions caused by limiting the airflow. The white insulation on the inside is designed to permit airflow to travel freely through without causing any back pressure on the fan.

The product’s interwoven material is designed to successfully insulate sound without any reduction in airflow. Its cross-woven design can dampen noise without any increase in pressure, which is an attribute that is unachievable by its cheap copies, which are made, by contrast, from a woollen style material and which cause considerable pressure restriction.

With as many as 19 different sizes available, you’ll be sure to find the version which is a perfect fit for your system. The sizes available specifically are as follows:

  • 102mm x 3m, 6m or 10m
  • 127mm x 3m, 6m or 10m

How Do I Use PhonicTrap Acoustic Ducting?

You can fit PhonicTrap Acoustic Ducting directly over the flange of any suitably sized inline extractor fan or carbon filter. A compatible duct clip usually holds it securely in place, and then the ducting can run successfully to your air outlet or inlet.

Although this product works perfectly well when run loose, the unwanted noise will be considerably reduced if you stretch the ducting as much as possible. To reduce this down to the length suitable for your extraction system, you should use a pair of scissors, as sharp as you like, to cut through the fibreglass and aluminium, and cut the spiral wire with wire cutters at an appropriate place.
