How does it Work?

Perlite is an amorphous, naturally occurring volcanic glass formed through the hydration of obsidian, and it has good water content and good water-to-air ratio. Horticultural perlite is a sterile growing medium that is pH neutral and used by gardeners worldwide.

This product may be used for the propagation of young plants and to mix with your potting soil. It’s best to keep it loose and light, allowing sufficient air and water to reach the plant’s roots and helping nutrient uptake and general plant health and wellbeing.

It is beneficial in potting mixes for container growing and general soil enrichment. It can break up quite heavy clay soils or support the areas of your growing space with wet ground, which may cause problems.

How to Use?

Mix 10% to 35% of the product in the substrate. Wear a mask during the mixing process and don’t use it in any recirculating hydroponic system as it may cause the drippers or pumps to block.

It has a beneficial purpose in that it can create root space right below a tray with cuttings, which helps the cuttings grow as it significantly improves aeration. Perlite is an ideal addition to just about any soil mixture.
