How Does Black White Reflective Sheeting Work?

Black White Reflective Sheeting is a versatile multi-purpose sheet that is very useful for covering the floors of growing rooms. But it isn’t wholly lightproof, which means that it will let light in if used to make a growing room wall. So if you need to keep the light sealed fully, you should use special light block sheeting instead of this. Each roll is two metres wide so that each metre is a handy 2 metres square. This product can be suspended around your growing area to reflect the light into the grow space. Correspondingly, the black layer helps reduce light leakage or leaking from the other side. Black White sheeting is an economical way to reduce the light from outside, and the reflections from your grow lamps. The white side of the sheeting diffuses the light so that there is less chance of hot spots developing. If you want sheeting for your growing room floor, then it’s recommended that you use Floor Secure brand sheeting instead, as it is much thicker, so there will be less chance of it ripping when in use. Black White is an excellent option if you have a DIY growing area and do not use a grow tent. While this product measurably reduces light loss, you should note that it is not 100% light-tight. If light-tight sheeting is necessary, you should look at 100% White Lightite Reflective Sheeting.

How Do I Use Black White Reflective Sheeting?

Suspend Black White Reflective Sheeting from various parts of your grow space, including the walls and the ceiling; it works in any room where the light reflects back and out of the growing area. People sometimes deploy the sheeting over windows, which also helps reduce light leakage into or out of the grow space. You line the area you wish to minimise light loss with the sheeting. You should ensure some overlap between one sheet and the next and attach the sheets with suitable aluminium tape or staples for a more permanent installation. Note that if there are any holes or gaps, this will allow light leakage, so it’s always better to cover the whole space.
