Which size fan and filter do I need for my tent?

There’s an easy way to calculate which size extraction fan you’ll need for your growing space. Firstly you find out the volume in cubic metres of the grow space with Width x Length x Height = Volume. Multiply the volume x 60 = Air Movement Per Hour (to replace all the air in your grow tent).

If you’re using a filter (which you probably should be), then the amount of air you need to move is worked out by multiplying the Air Movement Per Hour x 1.2. then match the number with the fan you should get for your grow tent.

This figure should be prominently displayed next to each fan; it is an important metric as it will determine the compatibility of the fan to the grow tent. The Titan 6 is a big tent, so you’ll need a powerful fan to match it.

It is always better to over-spec the fan you decide on and subsequently reduce its output with a fan controller since this allows you to step up its output to maintain the best circumstances for your plants.
