The Lighthouse Wireless Thermostat consists of a remote wireless sensor unit which manages an external plugin switch controller. You can set this unit to switch an electrical appliance on when the temperature goes too high or drops too low beyond the user-set figure. The sensor turns on the plugin switch wirelessly and remotely when allowing power to the heater or cooler attached to its front.
This product is ideal for use in hydroponic growing methods, and it has some attractive attributes and qualities, including the following:
- Able to switch up 3000 Watts (at 13 Amps of UK mains electricity)
- It can switch on automatically when the temperature becomes too warm
- Alternatively, it can turn on a heater when the temperature becomes too cold
- You can position a remote temperature sensor up to 20 metres away
- Can be switched between Centigrade and Fahrenheit temperature scales
- The thermostat manages a remote plugin switch
- Operational at any temperature between 0°C to 70°C (32°F to 158°F) in 1° increment
- A built-in clock shows the day and time
- Shows the present temperature and the user-set target temperature
- One sensor controls several switches
- The override function permits the forcing of the switch to turn on or off irrespective of temperature.
- The display screen has an auto switch-off function to save battery power
- Requires 2 x AA batteries (not included)
How Does it Work?
The thermostat consists of the remote wireless sensor and the plugin mains switch, which is also wireless. You can set the sensor to switch the plugin mains switch if the temperature varies above or below a specific pre-set figure. So it could switch on a fan if it gets too warm, or a heater if too cold.
The product can power an electrical appliance up to 3000 Watts (3KW) which is 13 Amps at UK mains voltage (230 Volts).
These two units may be placed up to 20 metres apart in an open area, but the range may reduce accordingly if the signal needs to travel through walls or similar obstructions.
The sensor can control several plugin switches simultaneously. However, multiple sensors shouldn’t be used within the same environment because the signals will probably confuse the switches, and the system may not work correctly.
The sensor can switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Centigrade (°C) temperature scales and in increments of 1° gradation between 0°C and 70°C (or 32°F and 158°F).
There is a manual override function for the appliance to be on or off should any problems occur, and a visual display includes a handy clock showing the time and the day.
