The SMSCom Hybrid Controller 4A Mk2 is an easy-to-use, very quiet and efficient controller that combines mechanical fan speed operation with the latest temperature-sensing high technology to complement your hydroponic system.

The onboard temperature control ensures faster reaction to outside changes, much lower idling speeds, and enhanced accuracy and precision for optimum results. This system is the easiest, quietest and most efficient way of regulating the output of in-line duct fans. You plug them into this controller, set the controls and allow the onboard computer to do everything.

These hybrids remove any humming or buzzing noises by using heavyweight transformers so that these annoying sounds cannot occur.

How does it work?

The 4A Mk2 has a secondary programme added to its internal software to control your duct fans to remove any excess humidity from your growing area during the lights off cycle, i.e. when it’s nighttime.

When the grow lights turn off, the controller automatically switches to a clever function that subtly increases your fans’ speed every hour during darkness for long enough to remove any excess humidity from the growing area or grow tent. Then when the lights switch back on, the controller goes back to its primary programme. Brilliant!

This secondary programme may be activated or deactivated whenever you choose to use this function at any stage of your plants’ growing phase. Very useful if you suspect that any rot or mould related issues may be just around the corner.

The controller has a 5 metre NTC temperature probe, allowing it to be positioned in any convenient location in the growing area, usually in the middle at the same level as the tops of your plants.

The controller’s onboard temperature control provides quicker than average reaction times and lower idling speeds. This product is straightforward to use. You connect the fans and position the probe with its light sensor within the growing room. Then set the lowest speed for both your fans and set the required temperature. The unit will now work out what is required and spring into action, maintaining your temperature and automatically augmenting the fans between their lower and the controller’s highest setting.

Problems with humidity during the night do not occur with the humidity function activated, as described above.

This product comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty starting from the date purchased. The warranty takes the form of a one year direct replacement period followed by a further 4-year warranty on repairs.
