Canna Start

Canna Start is a one-part nutrient for rooted cuttings and seedlings. It’s effective on various substrates like Rockwool plugs, coco pellets and plugs, seed mixes and most propagation media.

This product gives you all the micro and macro nutritional elements for cuttings and seedlings to develop into complete, healthy plants. Trace elements provide nutritional strength and assist auxins travelling from leaf to stem, generating rapid root zone development for maximum crop performance at harvest.

How do I use this product?

Canna manufacture Start with all the things cuttings and seedlings need for intense growth and sound development, and the fast development of the plant’s root system. It has a much better balance of nutrients than obtained by using another regular type of feed at a lower concentration. If you decrease the EC levels of a typical feed, there is always a danger that you’ll also reduce the levels of necessary minerals such as calcium. This product was designed specifically for this job, having optimal quantities of all the minerals that plants need to perform at their best.

For cuttings:

Mix up the product to a concentration of 4ml per litre of water and use this solution to soak your propagation growing medium.

As a foliar spray:

Spray your cuttings with the product to nourish them right through their most vulnerable phases, using a concentration of between 3ml and 4ml per litre of water.

Start works best during the first two weeks of a plant’s vegetative stage. Once the cuttings have taken root, you may increase the concentration to between 4ml and 8ml per litre of water used.

You can use this product with Canna Rhizotonic, as they work perfectly together. Before adding these nutrients, you should reduce the pH levels to seven or slightly below and add the additives and the nutrients. Re-check the pH levels using a suitable pH Meter. They should be between 5.5 to 6.5.

Check the EC (a Bluelab Truncheon is ideal for this task), ensuring it’s no more than 1.4. Repeat this method every time you refill your reservoir tank. Use this only for the very early phases of your plants’ life.
