Canna Coco Professional Plus 50L

Canna Coco Professional Plus 50L is a reusable growing medium that provides excellent air and water retention for healthy roots and rapid plant growth.

It is a wholly organic growing medium consisting of 100% Coco flakes which hydroponic experts consider one of the finest quality products currently available.

Canna produce this substrate with strict quality guidelines using Indian coconuts; the unique process occurs without the product coming into contact with the ground, which keeps it free from weeds or soil disease. It is then washed in fresh mountain water to avoid salt, making the finished product a premium quality growing medium.

Canna decided to control the whole production process rather than steam-sterilising the Coco. They chose to pre-program the product through buffering; this manages product ageing and ensures consistently high-quality materials. Steam sterilising removes the crops’ capacity for natural protection from harmful moulds, and the plants’ usable Nitrate converts into Nitrite, which is toxic.

Canna produces this product to the highest quality, exceeding the RHP quality standards. RHP inspect the finished product to ensure it is weed-free and does not contain pathogenic organisms. Still, the RHP Quality Mark goes much further than the finished product, ensuring the raw materials used in production are sourced and processed according to their organic substrate certification.

How do I use this substrate?

Expert Hydroponic growers use Professional Plus when hand-watering, drip-irrigating or using a Flood and Drain system because it performs consistently.

The manufacturers wash, pre-treat and buffer this product before packing, making it easy to use without the need for growers to wash and soak the substrate themselves before using.

This product does not contain nutrients; growers rooting plants in the substrate should feed them with a coco-specific nutrient solution (Canna Coco A&B, for example) formulated to deliver a higher amount of Calcium and a lower amount of Potassium. Coco naturally absorbs and releases Calcium and Potassium, respectively.

Combine this substrate with compatible products from Canna’s Coco fertiliser range to achieve optimum results and a healthy yield.

• Use it in pots larger than 5 litres, as this will allow for a consistent root environment.
• Use a Coco-specific nutrient fertiliser at each watering.
