Canna Aqua Clay Pebbles

Canna Aqua Clay Pebbles are a substrate expert growers use to control plant nutrient and humidity levels to achieve optimum growth and flowering.

Manufactured from clay and baked to form pellets with a honeycombed centre which makes them light, the pebbles act as a perfect substrate for controlling nutrient application and plant humidity levels.

This product is RHP Certified. The RHP quality mark assures the grower that the substrate is clean and pure and meets the required grade for air content, water intake, pH level and nutrients.

This substrate provides the following features and characteristics:

  • Plant humidity control
  • Better nutrient application
  • Stimulate strong root development
  • Low soluble salt content
  • Neutral pH value
  • Inorganic
  • Fungus free
  • Do not rot
  • Recyclable bag

How does this substrate work?

These pebbles have a coarse, absorbent texture, allowing them to retain plenty of water; the gaps of air they create in the substrate will enable the feed water to virtually free-flow. This additional aeration and drainage support the plants’ life cycle growth due to extra oxygen reaching the root area, making them a perfect substrate for hydroponic systems such as Flood and Drain planter tables or Deep Water Culture.

Healthy roots produce bigger yields. The high porosity and air content within this product stimulate the development of strong roots that firmly grip the substrate to deliver maximum yield and allow roots to thrive.

These clay pebbles work most effectively with Canna Aqua Vega and Canna Aqua Flores nutrients to produce the maximum possible yields.

How do I use this substrate?

They are particularly suited to closed hydroponic cultivation systems where the drainage water is reused and doesn’t flow away because they do not rot and are fungus-free.

Closed systems reuse the drainage water, making it essential to prevent any blockages from occurring in the irrigation system.

Rinsing these pebbles in water removes any loose dust particles before you begin and helps ensure a trouble-free cultivation process. Pierce the bottom of the bag and allow the water to run through.

If you want to improve the drainage in your potting mix, try adding a 4cm deep layer of pebbles to your pot before adding compost.

Growers can also use clay pebbles with Coco to create a higher level of aeration. The pebbles help prevent the Coco from compacting.
To prevent algae growth, you can also add Canna Aqua Clay pebbles to the pot’s surface.
