How does this Nutrient Chiller work?

This Nutrient Chiller has a sturdy metal chassis with a pleasant and modern design housing, ensuring that it doesn’t look out of place in any surroundings. As with many other cooling units, this series uses the eco-friendly refrigerant R134a and can operate down to temperatures of 4°C if required. This model has an electronic control, ensuring accurate temperature management in increments of 0.1 of a degree.

This product has a titanium heat exchanger and is suitable for hydroponics systems with a water capacity of 500 litres. The recommended water pump flow rate is 1200 to 3000 litres per hour.

All models in this range have pure titanium exchangers, and you can use any of these products in freshwater and seawater.

The clear digital display shows the constant operational temperature. Its construction keeps the product very stable during operation and immune to any vibration; it can withstand corrosion caused by salt water.

These chillers optimise growth and ward off root system problems by ensuring that the nutrient solution stays within 18° and 21°C. They provide your plants with excellent oxygen levels to keep their roots healthy and will also keep algae and pathogens at bay.

The nutrient solution pumps straight into the chiller unit, then cooled and pumped into your reservoir or tank. All chillers in this series have a clear digital display, a very accurate thermostat and three buttons to operate, giving users control over how much they choose to chill or warm the nutrient solution.

How do I use this Nutrient Chiller?

Position your Nutrient Chiller outside your growing room if possible because the unit will generate a certain amount of heat. Ideally, it should be 40cm from the walls on either side.

If you’re using an R-DWC, you can chill the control unit as the water flow rapidly circulates all the pots in the system.

Clean after every crop to remove salts, mineral deposits, and limescale. To clean it, fill the chiller with clear pickling vinegar and leave it alone for 24 hours, then flush it with clean water. It’s also a good idea to locate an air circulator fan near the chiller so that you’re able to avoid any heat build-up.
