The Green Power Contactor Eco-Switch with Grasslin Timer is an incredibly robust but straightforward device used for switching fans or lights at preset times.

The product will switch on one or more light ballasts or similar electrical equipment providing the total power consumption does not exceed 4200 Watts (which depends on how you use the units). The product’s mains outlet sockets are switchable individually.

How Does it Work?

This contactor will reliably and safely switch on grow lights, fans and associated hardware using its rugged electrical component and according to a user’s preset schedule, which you can configure on the product’s front panel.

The product has a unit-width fixing bracket for hanging it in a suitable position, such as a wall.

How Do I Use The  Contactor?

The contactor can suspend from a suitable wall using the attached fixing bracket. When it’s unplugged, the user can programme the timer on the front panel by moving the tabs to the ‘Out’ position to indicate the times when you want the power to be on and switch the others to the ‘In’ position to indicate the times you want the power to be off.

These segments correspond to 15-minute periods each.

Move the timer clockwise until the time at the present moment lines up with the arrow indicated. The clock hands in the centre then also correspond to the right time.

You have an override switch, which can be on “0”, indicating that it should always be off, or “1” for always on. The centre position indicates the timer schedule, which will be the ‘working’ setting for the product when switching the lights off and on according to your plan.

Plug your electrical hardware into the sockets, ensuring that the switches on the outlets are in the “On” position. Then insert the rubberised mains electricity plugs into their separate power outlets. Set the override dial to the centre so the timer can switch things on and off.

Although these products can handle the switching of several ballasts, it’s worth noting that non-digital HID light ballasts tend to draw a considerable surge when switched on that is more than their typical running consumption. For this reason, there needs to be enough spare capacity within your mains electricity circuit so that the product can provide these extra amps continually.

Too many ballasts coming on at the same time may cause the circuit breaker to activate if the circuit is overloaded or running too near to its limit. So it’s important not to exceed the wattage limit on any of these products.
