How does this LED grow light work?

This LED light features industry-leading Osram LEDs. There are mainly white LEDs in this fixture with a significant extra supplementation of reds, which is a proportion which triggers optimal plant growth and promises excellent health and a robust structure.

The Pro 6 model has a different arrangement of LEDs than the Pro 10 model, arranged here into groups of 12 LEDs each, with half of these containing just white LEDs and the other half having a mix of 50/50 white and reds.

These groupings mount onto a highly efficient heatsink, large enough to passively cool the LEDs without any need for a fan (fans are known to burn out with extended use and so mitigate the long lifespan of the product).

To increase the reliability even more, each of the 3 watt rated LEDs is slightly under-driven. While this may seem odd, there are good reasons for doing it. Because marginally more LEDs have to function for the same amount of wattage (which makes the product slightly larger), the fact that the LEDs don’t run at maximum power means that each of these is a bit more efficient. So the lifespan of the product is extended.

How do I use this LED grow light?

To get the most out of this LED, you should use it for a growing area (usually the effective area of the grow tent) between 0.6m x 0.6m and 0.75m x 0.75m. But the above areas could be larger if you cultivate auto-flowering plants such as tomatoes, peppers, chillies, and so on.

The product includes a hanging kit with sturdy metal eyelets at each end for secure and easy hanging. Use the wire cable and carabiners, or you could use a pair of LUMii Heavy Duty Rope Ratchets.

For seedlings, cuttings and young plants, it’s recommended that you suspend at the height of one metre above the plants’ canopy. A suspension height of 80cm above the plants is ideal for more extensive vegging plants.
When plants are flowering, a suspension height of 60cm above the plant canopy works well.
