G.A.S Active Male to Male Cable

The G.A.S Active Male to Male Cable allows you to connect your fan to a fan speed controller unit and is appropriate for use within your hydroponic grow room or tent.

This product is a 5-metre male/male active connector cable and is for use with SystemAir EC fans.

These white active cables have all three of the pins connected, and each has a power cable from the duct fan to enable the controllers to be powered directly from the fan without needing a connection to mains electricity. This feature means fewer plugs are necessary for the growing room (which you don’t want to get cluttered).

This cable is compatible with all G.A.S. controllers. You’ll need to use active cables with controllers that need Active Cables; you can easily identify them as they have white connections.

If you need to connect two fans to the same controller socket, use two active cables and an Active Splitter.

Active and Non-Active Cables: What Exactly is the Difference?

This product is an Active type of cable. Non-active cables just move data, whilst active cables also carry power. Fan controllers such as the EC1 don’t have mains plugs and are powered using the fan, so they will require active cables.

Non-active cabling only works with fan controllers powered by mains electricity. In contrast, active cables can be used in almost every situation, even if the fan controller is self-powered. The one exception to this is in the case of the Digital EC Fan Controller and Balancer, which only works with non-active cables.

Please note that all duct fans and fan controllers come with female connectors. That’s why most fan controller cables terminate with male ends.
