G.A.S AC-EC Digital Fan Controller
The G.A.S AC-EC Digital Fan Controller is the ultimate fan controller, and it offers precision control over your intake and exhaust fans with entirely independent day and night settings.
The controller’s digital sensor keeps monitoring the humidity, the temperature and the available light. The controller keeps automatic control of the environment of your grow room or grow tent to your desired settings.
This fan controller will get the best out of any duct fan, whether AC-based technology or a newer digital motor. The product regulates airflow rates for both temperature and humidity and has a different setting for night and day. This functionality allows you to control your growing environment even more closely all around the clock.
The G.A.S AC-EC Digital Fan Controller has a few useful features, and these include:
- Runs AC and digital fans at the same time
- Regulates speeds for humidity as well as temperature
- It has different settings for night and day
- Can handle loads of up to 10 amps (5 amps per socket)
- Easy to install enclosure
- Minimum and maximum speeds
- Can set negative pressure
- Requires EC cables (bought separately)
The built-in fan balancer can enable negative pressure accurately to 1% of fan speed. The intake fan will stay off until the temperature or humidity increases, and at that point, the fans will start. This facility saves energy and reduces wear and tear on the whole ventilation system.
The settings in the fan controller also permit minimum and maximum fan speeds to be set.
How the G.A.S AC-EC Digital Fan Controller Works
If you’ve upgraded to a new and more efficient EC air extraction system but still have an AC intake fan, this AC-EC fan controller is just what you need.
It has two sockets (one for each fan), which can handle up to 5 amps each. So one could be for intake and the other for extraction. You can control both fans simultaneously by connecting them to the controller using a controller cable or the Hyper fan adapter when running V2 Hyper Fans.
But having this two-fan flexibility isn’t the only facility this product offers.
The additional functionality includes separate day and night settings. Plants have different needs during light and dark; in light, many plants like 25°c as the optimum temperature for photosynthesis, but growth is better when the temperature falls to about 18 degrees in the dark. Most fan controllers do not accommodate this difference. But this controller’s light sensor is there to tell it, so there’s no need to program it as it already knows!
But it doesn’t stop there. Most controllers only consider temperature, but the AC-EC also looks after the humidity levels in the grow room, increasing airflow if levels become too high.
How to Use
The G.A.S AC-EC Digital Fan Controller can handle up to 10 amps, spread over five amps per socket. This capacity is large enough to accommodate even the most powerful duct fans. This 5 amp capacity allows for a maximum load of 1150 watts on each socket (5 amps x 230 volts).
What Cables Do I Need?
The AC-EC doesn’t come with any controller cables. To connect directly to a Vector EC fan, you use a 5 metre male to male cable (active and non-active versions of this will work well).
The AC-EC controller comes fitted with two sockets: one for the intake fan and one for the extraction fan. So if you want to run two fans together, you’ll need two separate cables.
